Quintus-M
by Schempp-Hirth
At the AERO in Friedrichshafen earlier this year,
the not quite finished Quintus prototype, hung over our booth and
attracted high interest and enthusiasm.
We hope to break totally new ground in the Open class with this 23 m wingspan glider. In the mean time, we are on the home stretch of this ambitious project as we approach the maiden flight of the Quintus with excitement.
At the same time, we are bringing the serial production up to speed. In cooperation with our project partner Lange Aviation, we have produced over 6 sets of wings that are being fitted with our typical angled outer wing and Maughmer winglets. With intricate detail and modern aerodynamic platform, our goal is to provide our customers with the well known “Schempp-Hirth flight feeling”.
The fuselage serial production preparations are in progress which includes extensive work on the prototype, moulds and fixtures.
A completely new cockpit in a new concept fuselage including a forward opening canopy and other well developed refinements raise the bar for cockpit conforts, bringing this important area directly surrounding the pilot to a new niveau. This high quality sailplane shall be available only as self starter.
A sailplane, without compromise in its performance potential and flexiblilty, becomes more than first class through its reliable, modern, high performance 70 HP injection motor - made for pilots with enthusiasm, that passionate success, experience and adventure bind together.

S10-VT Cockpit

The Cockpit
Apart from ideal soaring and power flight performance, the S 10-VT ensures the ultimate pleasure of flying in unparalleled comfort. The S 10-VT's side-by-side is an ideal environment for social, competition or instructional flying. The ergonomically designed cockpit provides the pilot unmatched comfort on even the longest flights. Easily adjusted rudder pedals and six point adjustment of the seats match the needs of short and special seats for very tall pilots are available. Ambient temperature is controlled by an ample supply of fresh air through an adjustable air distribution system. A solar-panel (Option) ensures power-supply for the gliding instrumentation during longer soaring periods.
